Fashion Updates

Well as anticipated, straighten-er has not touched the scalp of most girls in quite a while. Miss S.V.G will u please hurry up and get over with!
Apart from the Ms. SVG factor, does it seem that most of our college members have given up on fashion? Or is it the fact that upper six is gone and there are no longer people to impress…
C.R.F urges everyone to get on track! WHO says we can’t learn while being fashionably clad?!

Better News:

1..We see a certain mo-hawked male has added stars to his do. At least someone still cares about style!
2. Another male was also seen today with pink head-phones, pink bandana and a pink hand band.
Props to u both for the courage to pull that off!
Tonight is going to b short since college getting boring. Since upper-six left have we disintegrated fashion-wise/entertainment-wise?

GET OVER IT PEOPLE…

This week was full of anticipation for the generally fronted members of our college (myself included) who wanted to see how “she” was going to come with her hair now that she was missing a couple chunks. All mouths dropped open when we saw that the braids were out and she was rocking a sleek new do and looking absolutely fab-ulous! Inquiring minds are only concerned about the straightener application process- OUCH!

On to other news, it seems that our college members are finally getting the gist of mixing and matching. We saw a certain locally known Mona-Lisa rocking purple to the fullest and looking mighty fine if I must say so myself.

Other members of the student body seem to have given up on hair these days and even some boys who are usually nice and trimmed are sprouting hair. This should all be solved by Saturday though when they touch down at Mz. S.V.G to give their support to the ladies/lime (more the latter).

Speaking of Ms. SVG, ladies it is no longer necessary to dress as if you are going in for the show. Gone are the days when ladies had to wear sequined dresses and stilettos to the show.
Keep it simple, and don’t go too far out of your comfort zone- if you’re uncomfortable people will know and your discomfort will show rather than whatever fancy get-up you’re in. A dark jean and a nice top, some hot accessories, a hot hairstyle and a lot of confidence are perfect for the show.

REMEMBER YOU WEAR THE OUTFIT, DON’T LET IT WEAR YOU.

Hair Tips 101

At the beginning of college, it was clear that 95% if not all the students were of some sort of African descent. Since when did black people start sprouting RED hair? Red is a beautiful colour…but really, too much of anything is annoying! When there’s the rare occurrence of assembly you can’t stop seeing red! Who doesn’t have red hair tips, has a completely RED back head.Newsflash: There are OTHER colours suitable for streaks- Dark Brown..Medium Brown...Chestnut Brown..Ash Brown...Golden Brown....Dark Blonde..Light Strawberry Blonde..Dark Strawberry Blonde..Ash Blonde....Grey (if you wanna channel your inner grandma J)...Burnt Orange..and the list goes on and on! If your excuse for having red hair is “I want to express ma creativity,” Let me be the first to tell you; HAVING THE SAME HAIR COLOUR AS LIKE 30% OF THE SCHOOL AIN’T NOTHIN SPECIAL. Should I bleach my hair? While hair bleaching is not advisable, we’re young and we do want to experiment with different looks. If you ARE going to bleach your hair try not to bleach the entire thing (the ends are a good option becoz they can be easily chopped off). Already bleached hair?Bleach does significantly damage hair, but if you’ve already done it you can take care of it to ensure your hair doesn’t fall out by the chunks. Keep your hair well moisturized. There are special moisturizers and hair relaxers for colour treated hair- NO they’re not EXPENSIVE (well...not really lol). Remember to treat your hair as often as possible!!

Skirt Mania??

Everyone knows that college skirts were NEVER in fashion. We can all remember saying “eww” under our breaths or in some other way expressing our disapproval with anyone who was seen patrolling the streets of Kingstown in their skirts. WHAT HAPPENED?
History of skirt wearing: Skirts were at first only allowed to be worn by persons with some religious band from the original pant uniform and needed to have some sort of clothing.
Skirt wearing today: Today we see a wide assortment of skirts –boxed pleats, fine pleats, short skirts, super-short skirts…and let’s not forget LONG skirts.
Why the sudden change?!

Now, I’m not saying that some of these skirts don’t look good, infact, certain lower six persons have been credited with rocking the skirt with a certain finesse BUT some persons clearly have made the WRONG uniform choices, and, either need to get OUT of their skirt or save $24 and link themselves up with some plaid material.

How do I know which uniform is right for me?
Narrow hips with “booty”: The skirt is a good option for you. You can however make a pant that is a little closer at the ankle (skinny jean-ish) to give the illusion of more hips.
Bootylicious: Since we are living in a society where “booty” is an important asset, you can play this up by wearing a pant that is fitted but has enough room to pinch. Make your pant looser. YES I said LOOSER!! Many persons think that making their pants tighter gives the illusion of more ass-ets but it does the opposite. Super tight pants may actually flatten the tush.
Ms. NoBooty: Wear a skirt! Please ensure that you do not use too much material because it makes you look like you’re swimming in clothing.
